The Ulster Garden Club dedicates this Photography Show to the memory of naturalist, author and pioneer conservationist John Burroughs. He had deep roots in Ulster County and the Catskills of his childhood and was always drawn back here from his travels. A noted essayist who wrote extensively about his observations of nature, his many notable friends and admirers included Theodore Roosevelt, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison and Walt Whitman. The name of this show and the titles of the photography classes have been selected from some of his essays in the hope that his works will serve as an inspiration to us all.
